the girl behind the blog

Hey friends! Since I’m still a pretty new blogger, I figured I’d do a get-to-know-me type of post so you guys can (hopefully) get a better feel of who I am! You can only learn so much about a person through their instagram and twitter, especially when that person (cough, cough.. me) only posts pictures of their dog and tweets about pointless things, such as buying a pizza shaped pool floaty. So, here we go!

What is your middle name? Nicole! No part of my name was passed down from someone else in the family, boo. I would have loved to have my middle name be after a great grandma or something like that.

What was your favorite subject at school? The only class I truly enjoyed during high school was my psychology class, but in college I had many classes that I loved. I took Sensation and Perception, which really delved into the micro structures of the brain, eyes, and ears, showing the anatomy and science behind how each system works. It was definitely the hardest class I’ve ever taken, but so incredibly interesting.

What’s your favorite drink? Non-alcoholic is Cherry-Vanilla Coke Zero, Alcoholic is Pineapple Malibu with orange juice.

What is your favorite song at the moment?  Definitely ‘From the Ground Up’ by Dan+Shay

What is your favorite food? Literally any type of pasta with cheese. Get me into an italian restaurant and I’ll be in love. Gimme all the breadsticks and alfredo dipping sauce.

What is the last thing you bought? I went a little crazy after being in a Target for the first time in months.. I bought a new makeup bag, swim shoes, a pizza pool floaty, a giant candy bar (because why not? it was in the dollar section.. my favorite part about Target), Not Your Mother’s dry shampoo (I’ll probably review this sometime!), and probably some other things that I can’t remember off the top of my head. I went a little nuts.

What is your favorite book of all time? A Million Little Pieces by James Frey. It’s such a moving story. I was slightly disappointed when I learned that the story wasn’t completely true like I had once believed. It’s still so good though, go read it.

Favorite color? Coral and teal!

Do you have any pets? Yes, which I’m sure you all knew about. Her name is Myla, she’s a Coton de Tulear. I also consider my parent’s dog ‘my pet’ too, since I lived in the house with them when we got him. He’s a Cavachon who is twice as big as he’s supposed to be (he’s not fat, just a giant form of the breed I guess? We even DNA tested him to see if he had a different breed in him as well). I love them more than my words can express.

Favorite Perfume? Honestly I’m a little embarrassed to say this, but my favorite perfume comes from PacSun. I don’t even know if they sell it anymore or what it’s called, but it came in a green bottle when I used to buy it! Maybe I’ll go buy a bottle now..

Favorite holiday? Valentine’s Day. I know some people don’t consider this a holiday, and say that ‘you should spoil your boyfriend/girlfriend/partner all the time’, and I get that. We do spoil each other often! However, I’m a hopeless romantic until the day that I die, so having a specific day meant for love is wonderful in my mind!

Are you married? No, but I’m in a committed relationship of six years (once May 25th hits) and it’s certainly headed in that direction!

Have you ever been out of the country, if so, how many times? Yes! I’ve taken a few trips out of the U.S. The first was when I was in first grade when we went to go visit family in Australia. I don’t remember too much of that trip so I’m dying to go back. The second time was the summer between my 5th and 6th grade when we took a Mediterranean cruise and stopped at a lot of different countries; Italy, France, Greece, Turkey, etc. My family was in Canada briefly when I was in 8th grade because that’s where out Alaskan cruise left from. The most recent trip was to England, which was probably one of my favorite trips ever. It’s a totally different culture than America, and I loved it.

Do you speak any other language? I wish.

How many siblings do you have? One, an older brother

What is your favorite shop? It’s not really a ‘shop’, but I could seriously live a Super Target for the rest of my life and love every minute of it.

Favorite Restaurant? Anything Italian or that has really good chicken strips. I eat like I’m a four year old child, it’s fine.

When was the last time you cried? Sunday while saying goodbye to my roommate; I’m not good with goodbyes, and I don’t know when I’ll see her next.

Favorite Blog? I’m still new enough here that I haven’t established a favorite yet! Stay tuned.

Favorite Movie? Room. It is hands down the best, most emotionally compelling film I’ve ever seen.

Favorite TV show? Gilmore Girls, without a doubt! I’ve watched the series like three times from start to finish.. all 7 seasons.

PC or Mac? Mac!

What phone do you have?  iPhone 6!

How tall are you? Somewhere around 5’8, I honestly don’t even know for sure.

Can you cook? If Mac n Cheese from the box and frozen corn dogs count, then yes.
